Chattahoochee Technical College's newly renovated Woodstock campus is located near downtown and features state-of-the-art technology, small classes, and strong programs that benefit local industry in training students for employment. Chattahoochee Tech has eight campuses state-wide which offer 70+ degrees, diplomas, and certificates in 45 programs of study.

Transportation

Originally a stop on the Louisville and Nashville Railroad, Woodstock is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. In 2007 it was the tenth fastest-growing suburb in the United States - with the growth rate of Woodstock at 70% over the past 10 years, the city has doubled in size. Interstate 575 and State Highway 92 run diagonally and directly through Woodstock. Cherokee Area Transportation System (CATS) provides public transportation service for residents of Cherokee County.

The recently expanded Cherokee County Airport is conveniently located north of Woodstock off I-575. Atlanta-Hartsfield International Airport is about forty-five minutes south of Woodstock, GA.

Employment

Woodstock, GA as part of Cherokee county consistently ranks lower in unemployment than the state average. The area's largest employers are the Cherokee County School District and Northside Hospital Cherokee. Other large employers include ERB Industries, Pillow Perfect, Underwood Mold Company, Kirk-Rudy, and Roytec Industries.

Healthcare

A brand new Northside Hospital Cherokee is under construction in Cherokee county, off I-575 at Exit 19. The new Northside Hospital-Cherokee campus comprises the hospital, medical office building, and 900 parking spaces on a 50-acre complex scheduled to come online in 2017.

Recreation

Woodstock, Georgia abounds with recreation activities for young and old. It is home to many parks including those maintained by Cherokee County and those within the city limits. City Parks include: The Park at City Center in Downtown Woodstock (gazebo, benches, War Memorialm ampitheater. This park is home to The Woodstock Summer Concert Series, our Fourth of July FreedomFest, KidsFest and Christmas Jubilee. Dupree Park features pavillions, playground, restrooms, tennis, basketball, walking trail, a fishing pond. Other city parks include Dobbs Road Park, Springfield Park and Woofstock Park. lde Rope Mill Park is home to the Taylor Randhal Memorial Mountain Bike Trail with 14 miles of connecting trails that twist through nearly 100 acres of public park land. A pedestrian/ bike bridge connects the south side of Little River to the north side where you can see the remnants of an 1800's Rope Mill. The Greenprints Trail System's multi-purpose trail spans 60(+) miles and was developed through the City of Woodstock's 2007 plan to develop a premier trail system.

County parks in Woodstock include Hobgood Park, one of the most heavily used parks in Cherokee County with baseball, softball, tennis, walking track, playground and pavillions. Spread over 470 acres, J.J. Biello Parks offers tennis, youth softball, youth football, soccer and lacrosse, as well as a large pavilion and playground. Located within the South Government Annex just north of downtown Woodstock, the Recreation Center is home to the Recreation & Parks offices, as well as, most of the indoor programming offered by CRPA.

Golfers can choose from The Golf Club at Bradshaw Farm, Towne Lake Hills Golf Club, or Eagle Watch Golf Club.

Dixie Speedway is a seasonal dirt track that hosts high-speed car races, demolition derbies, monster trucks and more.

Want to stay indoors? Visit Elm Street arts center. It offers performances, instruction, and exhibits year round.

If shopping is more your favorite pastime, The Outlet Shoppes of Atlanta outlet mall features nearly 100 name brand stores including Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5th, Kate Spade New York, Michael Kors, Coach, Nike, Cole Haan, and Tommy Hilfiger.
